Chinese zoo boom
Analysts from Digital Research Institute have provided the report about rapid growth of popularity pets in China.
People who was born in the ’60s have more motivation to up for a pet, than younger people according to the report from JD.com. The share of pet goods purchased by consumers over the age of 60 is higher than other age groups accordingly.
Chinese prefer cats and dogs most of all. Aquarium fishies in the third place of by popularity. 43.9% of dogs bought in pet stores, 27% donated and only 11.8% of dogs were taken from volunteers. 32.6% of cats were picked up on the street, 18% were a gift, 25.3% purchased at «bird markets» and pet shops and 19.9% came to their current homes from shelters.
